I've talked with the Sugar Grove library and there's a new Starbucks in Yorkville. But before I pursue any further action in the area of organizing write-ins for November, I want to know if there is actually interest for it.
Sugar Grove would be on Saturday mornings--probably 10-12, at the Sugar Grove Library.
Yorkville would be some evening during the week at the Starbucks. (Corner of 47 and 34.)
I went ahead and planned for 6pm on Wednesday evenings. But I'm willing to stay until they close--I'll check and see when that is. But I imagine no matter when you show up should be fine. (:
The first Wednesday in November, I won't be hosting in Yorkville. There will be an alternate write-in that I'll be attending in downtown Geneva, but if you can manage I highly suggest coming. It'll be at Graham's 318 coffeehouse... which is essentially my home away from home.

I was at the library this evening, and the man that runs the coffee shop expressed interest in having a year round group that'd meet maybe once a month or so to write / read / edit their work. I'll probably make a separate thread about this later, but initially... anyone interested in this?
A write in is simply where people meet up and sit and write. Often there are word wars to compete to see who can get the most words in a set amount of time. It is super fun and motivating.
I live in Sugar Grove and would love to make to the Saturday A.M. write-in at the library. My girls are doing Little Dribblers basketball this year and that is at 11:30 up in Elburn. If I can coordinate with my wife,I will try to come for the first hour and then race home and pick them up and take them to basketball. Also, I am interested in the possibility of a year round group that would meet at the SG Library.
Sugar Grove write-in this morning at 10! (The library opens at ten, so don't aim to show up TOO early in hopes of doing extra writing... you'll be lonely in the parking lot. :( )
We'll be meeting right in the Java Cafe when you walk in. Then you can order tea or coffee or food if you like. I have a power strip, story stones, and candy~!
Heading out soon to go to the Sugar Grove Public Library for your write-in, Squiddish!
I'm thinking to pick up a quick lunch afterwards (after noon) either nearby there or close to the Warrenville Public Library if any folks would be interested in a quick meet-up.

I'm for sure in for Yorkville!
Sugar Grove could be a possibility. My husband works some Saturdays so it would have to be days he isn't working and can stay home with our daughter.
Awesome! ;) Even if it's just the two of us, I'll plan on this. Would Tuesdays or Wednesday be the best for you?
Ooooh! I'm two minutes from the Sugar Grove Library :) So I'd be in for that. They also have re-opened their little cafe inside.
Which is AMAZING! Just went in there the other day and it's the first time I've been! I'll nail down Sugar Grove on Saturday mornings, 10-12.
I can walk to the Yorkville starbucks so I might possibly be able to come to those.
Finally! I have been trying since last week to reply to this and I wasn't able to!
I could probably make either T or W work I'll just make sure my husband is actually home early that night.
What time are you thinking? I work in Tinley on Wednesdays so a little later would be better for me but I can just meet you a little late if need be.

Yay! You didn't forget me. :)
Hi Squid!
I will try to make the Saturday AM at Sugar Grove library.
Dave
Sounds good, Dave! Look forward to seeing you again. (:

Sounds great! I'm looking forward to it. ... Now I just need to find my laptop charger. ... haha
I will have to check out Geneva. I'm not sure how far that would be from me but I'll look into it.
Yes interested :)
I live in Plano so either Sugar Grove or Yorkville would be great! Now, since I'm a newbie (N00b?), can someone explain what a write-in is? :-D
Looking forward to meeting everybody!
Laurie

Sugar Grove weekends work better for me. :) I'll just have to look up the library and catch a ride.
Exactly what PBJ said. And it'll be great to meet you all!
I live in Sandwich but used to live in Plano. The Plano library has a writer's group which meets year round. You might want to check it out.
Dave (AKA TRRDEDEAN)
Thanks for the info and the lead on the Plano Library writing group! So many things to motivate me! I love it!
Looking forward to meeting everybody, too!
