I'm in the very nice position of being able to write at any time on Friday, November 1. I'm going to start by writing at home, since that's where I write best.
I'd be happy to host an afternoon write-in at a coffee shop, orearly evening, but would have to leave before6. I could also do late morning. I can only do 2-3 hours of sitting in one place. (But the write-in could go on ifother people wanted to stay later.)
If there's a lot of interest, I'll make a doodle poll, but for now, just respond when you can make it, and your preference of where. I'm thinking Caribou, maybe Naperville, maybe Glen Ellyn, but it could be elsewhere if they have comfortable chairs and wifi.

Sorry, I set something up for Naperville on the 1st. (I could do the 15th in Wheaton if you're available that Friday.)
You can set up your own write-in, by the way. You're less than a mile from:Caribou Coffee, West Front Street, Wheaton, IL
We have other writers from the Wheaton area, if you want to set up a time that you'll be there, it's possible other people will join you.(Or elsewhere--there is also a Starbucks orLa Spiaza in downtown Wheaton. I prefer the chairs and coffee at Caribou over Starbucks.)
There was talk tonight at the Caribou in Glen Ellyn about having a sort of impromptu write-in Friday evening. I'll likely be there from around 6:00 to maybe 8 or 9, depending on when I get off work that day.

I was hoping you guys would do that. Sounds like it could be fun.
It largely depends on if we're working that day/when we get off work. Checking my schedule this morning it looks like Quittin' Time is actually 5:00, so I should be chilling in Caribou by 5:30! I'll try and grab either one of the large tables, or a double table. I will not have a power strip on me but I hope to buy an extra one sometime this month to make the most of our outlets (and I could use one at home anyhow).
As a note, the Caribou in Glen Ellyn (off Roosevelt Road) has been EXCEPTIONALLY busy lately. Every Sunday we've gone, there's been barely any tables left and it's remained busy up until around 8-9:30 or so. If someone gets to Caribou on a write-in day, please grab a large table if anyone else is expected to come--preferably by an outlet! We all will appreciate it. :)
D'oh, I start work at 1:15 on Friday, like I always do, I don't know why I thought it would be different this week. (Wishful thinking, I guess.) I think I might spend the morning at Wicked Good in Naperville, though, and maybe I'll head up to Glen Ellyn after work, which would put me there around 7:30ish.
I may come out by you Friday. I am hosting a room at the Elmhurst Public Library from 10a-Noon. If we can't keep the room in the afternoon, I may come out by you guys for a change of scenery.
I would be able to stop by, but I've scheduled a doctor's appointment for that day now. At least I can stay up until midnight and start writing at that time this year!
I work until 4:30 on the 1st, which means that I wouldn't be able to be at the Glen Ellyn Bou until about 5:30 or 6, depending on traffic, but I will be there, barring any unforeseen sudden illness or other such act of God. XD I will have stickers! I haven't decided if I'm doing plot bunnies again this year or not. I've been really tired, and haven't had much energy for anything but eating, sleeping, and working. XD So we'll see.
I will be sure to bring my NaNoWriMo Shield! Instead of a traditional table tent to let folks know that we're the NaNo group, I made a papercraft NaNo logo shield (on a stick).
I may alsobring papercraft word war prizes if I have time to make them on Thursday!

I will have Space Ducks.
So, if you want to have one of those little cuties to inspire you all month, join me. At this point, the chance of winning a space duck is very high. :)
If you come to the Glen Ellyn Caribou, I'm the first one here (I think!) and I'm currently chilling at one of the back tables with access to a whole bunch of power outlets at the moment. It's pretty chilly in here and it looks like they're having live music at 7:00. Let's do this thang!

If it's somewhere in Naperville I might be able to make it. I'm taking Nov. 1st off work this year, but I have a doctor's appointment in the morning.
I have to be at work at 3:15, but I'd love to kick off NaNo with a write-in somewhere.
If it's within a three mile radius of the college, I can take part in a write-in~ no class or work that day.
what college?
I have to stay near Aurora and I have school that day, so I wouldn't be able to make it until after 5:30.
Sounds like we may need a couple. I'll schedule one for theCaribou in Naperville around starting at 1:00.
(If someone wants to schedule another onefor the 1st, feel free.)
I might be able to join an afternoon write-in, Katherine. I'm thinking of taking a day or half day off November 1st (haven't decided yet).
Sorry; Wheaton college ;) And make that four or five miles- the sidewalks here are remarkably flat.

Taking time off? Smart girl!
I'm working my monthly Friday double on the 1st, so I can't come. But at least I'll get that nasty double shift out of the way on the 1st?

Here are photos from the Naperville Caribou write-in (KatherineWriting hosting). Thanks, Katherine! I really love my Space Duck!
