We will (depending on the will of those attending the Woodridge one) be doing some word wars, a box of doom and may try a new motivational exercise: feeding the Creative Flame.
Among the prizes will be Muse cards that fit on your idea ring (I will bring some of the remaining idea rings for those who missed getting them at the prep sessions and kick-off) and the first color of the whale erasers I will be giving out at the Woodridge and Naperville Public Library write-ins:
Yellow symbolizes the newness of the NaNoWriMo season, our hopes and optimism for the month and our blazing creative energy.
I will also bring a couple of squids.
As always with Cee-Bee's write-ins, there will be a host of fun hats for the second winners in the word wars to wear. :-)
Just as a quick follow-up. Attendance was lighter than usual, but everyone who came to this write-in made tremendous progress on their novels:
Here are some photos. Three people won squids; everyone came away with a yellow whale. Jez was the first repeat word war winner--she looks marvelous in her hat :-). Gail won the first word war with 1000 words in 13 minutes!
Next Write-in is this Saturday, November 16, from 1:30-4:30. I'm bringing treats again! And hats!
We have fun at these, and it will be either a great chance to get lots of words written, or work up an appetite for the dinner meetup afterwards. Or both!
See the separate thread, if you're interested in the dinner: http://nanowrimo.org/forums/usa-illinois-naperville/threads/139661
Hope to see plenty of Naperwrimos Saturday in Woodridge!
Today is the first of two write-ins at the Woodridge Public Library (Catherine aka Cee-Bee is hosting these); it runs 1:30-4:30 pm. Roughly simultaneous to this will be the Warrenville Public Library write-ins (hosted by Jen.E.Moore and Nidia.Ceylon).
