I feel you. I barely managed a thousand words last night, after three solid 4k days - work was awful. I can usually keep myself going with the Carrot and Stick thread. (Of course, winning all my challenges lately on that thread has meant I haven't done some necessary things that I don't want to do, like go grocery shopping...)
Someone sent an email to me and copied several other people suggesting that I do something that I thought was a complete waste of time. It annoyed me.I wrote in my story:
Today she'd had to walk someone through how to share an event on social media. The person wanted Sandy to send out a detailed step-by-step email on how to do this. Click and share. How much more detail does anyone need?
Since I needed a few words about a minor problem for this character, it was perfect timing. I love to channel my irritation into my stories. It saves me from ranting on Facebook. :)
jen.e.moore that is a fun post. I'm going to have to give it a try!
Katherine that is genius. ... I don't think my husband would appreciate me memorializing his stupidity though. haha.
I ended up writing through it. I skipped a whole bunch of stuff and started writing a scene where my MCs were fighting. It actually kinda helped the mood of the scene!
I was on a roll tonight. I finally sat down to write and then half hour later something happen to really, really make me mad and I totally lostfocus.
Any tips on how to write through the bad/mad/sad moods?
