Inter-regional word wars (where two geographical regions battle for word count supremacy) have existed for a long, long time in NaNoWriMo history. The Naperville region joined in this fun activity pretty early in our region-hood and innovated a fun twist, requiring the losing region(s) to sing the regional song of the winning region. You can view/listen to this history on our naperwrimo.org website.
We will sing our regional song (Typin' Away Again Near Dear Ol' Naperville) at our TGIO--it is a fun parody of Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett.
Inter-regional word wars can be another fun motivational tool, with some lighthearted-but-good-willed banter between the regions.
So why do I post this now? Just to give you a little background because we are on the eve of challenging another region...
If you would like to participate in this challenge, please make sure you are a part of our NaNo Faces wordcount graph. Unlike in previous years, this year's challenge will involve only those folks who are a part of the graph as of a certain cut off date in the fairly near future.
