Hullo there. I have two fabulous places in Lemont for potential write-ins. Please let me know when and where you are interested in meeting, and I will see to the rest of the arrangements! I have already been to both of these establishments this NaNo and have had some of the BEST writing experiences so far this year. I hope I can share some with some of you! <3
For the day writers, may I suggest:
Sweetwater Deli Address:316 Canal St, Lemont, IL 60439 Phone:(630) 243-7210 Hours: Mon-Fri: 10am-8pm Sat: 10am-4pm Sun: Closed http://www.sweetwaterdeli.com
I'm glad that you're looking to schedule some write-ins in Lemont. It's always great to have write-ins that are close to people so they don't have to travel very far. Looks like Sweetwater Deli has wi-fi and good food. Orange13 doesn't appear to have wi-fi (or maybe it just isn't emphasized?) though their lobster bisque appears to get good reviews; perhaps it is better for meet-ups than write-ins?
It can sometimes help if you suggest some times that you would be available to host.
I'll keep an eye on this thread and you can shoot me an nanomail once something is scheduled, so we can add it to the calendar.
Okay, I believe the first one can be at Orange 13 this Friday, anywhere from 4pm - 3 am; I can reserve a booth with an outlet; yes, there is wifi, it is just password protected; I will see what I can do toarrange to have that shared with those who RSVP with their tentative time frames.
This is the exterior of Orange 13 Lounge 14196 McCarthy Rd, Lemont, IL 60439
The booth I will reserve is along the back wall and in the corner; very VIP ;)
I respect everyone who knows themselves and their writing styles; that said, I know I am capable of pumping thousands of words when I write at Orange 13. The music is so fly (live performance this Friday by Jimmy O Rhonda Lee), the food is so good, the drinks of either liquor or coffee or both keep coming, and the atmosphere is swanky cool.
If you don't mind putting on some sharp looking clothing, doing yourself up pretty, and having the coolest atmosphere for writing your novel, join us this Friday! Please RSVP by nano-mailing me.
Do you think you will join me, Tim? I think you wouldn't be too distracted if you came during the earlier hours. ;) Yes, the scent of fabulous food may be alluring, but after you munch on a flatbread, you'll be good to compose with rich flavors on your pallet. The atmosphere can be soenticing for writing; all those beautiful lights, velvet curtains, and wide booths, mmmmm, makes me want to craft a scene right now! Haha.
Thanks very much for the invitation, Miranda. Orange13 does sound like a great place.
Unfortunately, I just had a meeting scheduled for late this Friday afternoon; and since I am spending all day Saturday at the Carol Stream and Woodridge write-ins + the meet-up dinner at Suparossa, I think it's better for me to be at home with the family Friday evening.
I hope others will be able to join you. I believe you have the only write-in scheduled for this Friday.

Miranda, I've added your event to the regional calendar.
A note to everyone: because Orange13 has a full bar, I believe Illinois law prohibits those under age 21 to be there unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. So this is not an all-ages event (I've made this annotation in the calendar).

Ah, some of the booths at Orange 13 Lounge. =)

I entirely respect that Tim. You're a good man to think of your family.
What if we schedule another one for Orange 13? Would you be able to make it any day, Wednesday the 20ththroughFriday the 22nd?
Thursday the 21st might be a possibility for something in the mid-to-late afternoon.
I'm interested, and will nanomail you!
Our write in is live! Four of us are up at Orange 13 writing. Room for more, surely!
