Ok, I'm going to ask my regional peeps here, because I may see some of you later on on Jabber anyway....but....
I need some ideas, and can't move forward until I have an answer to this question:
What is the most unlikely place to find redemption?
I don't want to use anything church-y, and I can't use hell. My MC doesn't have a car, and the setting is DT Chicago and the immediate outskirts.
Thoughts?????

A coffee shop. Caribou preferred.
At the bottom of a glass.
In a broken down train car in the middle of a brisk Chicago winter commute.
In a used bookstore in a building's basement.
In Cook County lockup.
In his best friend/lover.
On a water taxi at night.
The art museum.
A run-down bar.
Union Station.
Millennium Park.
The local park, maybe with kids playing.
An elevator stuck between floors.
On a boat, out on Lake Michigan. Especially at night, when you don't have to go far before you start seeing lots and lots of stars.
Or a forest preserve. The Des Plaines River Trail.

In the midst of committing a felony.
While joining in a bullying assault of a hapless student.
While sneaking out to commit adultery.
Handcuffed in the back seat of a police cruiser.
Face down in vomit in a bar after starting a drunken brawl.
While shopping in the Magnificent Mile with stolen credit cards.
Ooh....some of those are really good...Still waiting for one that "clicks" but I'm going to play around with a few. :) Thanks!
