If you're interested in getting feedback onstories (including an entire novel, chapter by chapter), I recommend critique circle. I've learned a lot by critiquing other people's stories, and by the critiques I got on my stuff.
(The screen shots are a little out of date, but the basic information is still valid.)
The beginning of my NaNo novel is up this week. One benefit of finishing early was that I had time to revise the first chapter a few times before it came up. I do not recommend putting anything on CC with typos and bad grammar and basic flaws. If you don't take the time to clean up your chapter, other people aren't likely to take the time to help you improve it. And you get out of Critique Circle what you put into it. I spend a few hours a week critiquing other people's writing, and updating my novels based on critiques I get. I also give people feedback on what I found useful in their critiques. That builds a relationship. I have several 'friends' on CC, and I always look forward to seeing the next chapter of their work in progress.
