If one train leaves Downers Grove (Fairview Ave) station at 10:47am with X number of Nano writers aboard and a second train leaves the Glen Ellyn station at 11:00am with Y number of Nano writers, which train will have the most words written by the time they reach the Chicago?
There's only one way to find out. Come out on Saturday, November 4th and join fellow Nano writers on one of the two aforementioned Metra train stops and we'll see which group can write the most words before reaching the Chicago train station stops. Please RSVP to this thread to let us know you're coming and which train you will be taking.
We'll arrive at the Chicago station around noon and have lunch at the French Market located below the Ogilvie station trains. Please join us there if the Downers Grove or Glen Ellyn routes are not convenient.
After lunch, we'll head to the Harold Washington Library for more writing from 1:30 to 4:00 and head back for the 4:40 trains head back to Downers Grove (Fairview Ave) and Glen Ellyn. The walk from the train stations (Ogilvie and Union) is about 1 mile.
Participants are encouraged to attend wearing their favorite superhero costume (and/or bring your stuffed animal wearing theirs).
My friend and I are going to be on the Glen Ellyn train! (However, we will be boarding in Elburn, so once we're on we can post here to let people know what car we're in, therefore making it easier to meet up!)
Tom T and I won't be on the trains, but we're planning to meet you at the Harold Washington Library once you get that far. The train back to Joliet runs at about the same time, and the LaSalle St Metra is only 2 - 3 blocks from the library.
If someone could text me at 815-351-0190 to let me know which floor and where you're at once you get there, I'd appreciate it! :)
For those of you planning to ride with the Downers Grove/Fairview train, I'll be leading that group. Please PM me, and I'll give you my number and set up a group text so we can find each other on the train/have cross car write-ins when wifi might be scarce.
The fancy Winter Garden room in the Harold Washington library, where we had hoped to camp out in to write is reserved for private event on Saturday. So, we have reserved a couple of study rooms on the 7th floor of the library, so we'll have guaranteed outlets available.
So far, we have the following writers participating:
Downers Grove train line:

ChaiTea4Me
zora5128
alkamy (board train in Aurora)
Glen Ellyn train line:

So when you board the train / or now make sure you set up your information. I'll be getting on shortly for the UP-W line and look forward to seeing you all in the city or at the Glen Ellyn stop! :D Once we are in one of the cars, we'll comment which.
For the UP-W riders, we're in the front most car, west side. You'll be able to see me as soon as you get on because I have a giant computer and a purple sweatshirt that says I'M A HUGGER!
