My mom is going to be in town...,possibly from the 6th-10th...before leaving for that weekend to visit my brother in st. louis...then returning on the 13th with my dad...and staying...until...maybe the 17th or 19th when they leave for florida (yeah yeah, retired old folk who can go where ever they want)
This means, i have access to FREE BABYSITTING YAY! Meaning, opportunities to write! So, provided my mom hasn't given me a giant ball of stress (as some moms do)...i may feel up to hosting a write in...
possible places i might do it:
Santori, West branch, or Eola library (though the first two are only 5-8 minutes from my house...)...I could reserve a study room if there was 3 or more of us
A cafe in down town aurora...Rivers edge cafe is ALWAYS delicious, There is this new Endiro cafe across from Bally Doyle pub that I want to try, 2 brothers round house has a cafe, and Jakes Bagel and Deli is super SUPER delicious BUT UGH they are only open until 3!
Panera or starbucks on orchard road
other
Is there anyone here in the region that is interested in some Aurora write-ins because they live close? If so...what locations would be best for you and what times/days?
I don't want to 100% commit to hosting anything just yet...as one never knows how nagging a mother will be...and it may be just enough that I NEED to get out of the house before i lose my mind lol!...but also, if there is enough interest for a location, I might be persuaded...otherwise i may just say "Hey mom, have fun with the kid, bye!"
But i'd rather plan ahead first to give people in my area a chance to make a write in...
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
I live in Sandwich and would enjoy a write-in closer. West branch or the Panera/Starbucks on Orchard would be wonderful. If it works out I see if I can make it.
My caveat is my wife has shoulder surgery tomorrow and I'm not sure how much TLC she needs. As she gives me lots of TLC I want to make sure I reciprocate.
I'd be interested! I actually live in Elk Grove, but frequently go to Aurora to visit friends; so really anywhere in Aurora would work for me.When I'm in the area, I usually like to write atthe Starbucks on Kirk and Butterfield Rd.
OK! I am thinking of hosting two dates...only because there is a knitting crafting group meeting at those locations in the PM...from 6-7:30
So: I am thinking Eola Branch Library from 2-6 on Thrusday november 9th
and the West Branch from 2-6 on november 16th
Let me know what you all think...because I can set up a thread...or have the ML's edit this one...for RSVP...so i can reserve a study room. The website says i can reserve 48 hours in advance...and I would think 3 or more people...? I'd have to call the library to ask how many people the study room holds or what is available...i am trying to look on the website to reserve a room and the format is kind of confusing..
So, let me know what you think...and then tomorrow i can set up (or edit) a thread to get RSVP's so i can reserve a study room...otherwise...i'll still go anyway...so i can be at the library anyway before i go knit with old ladies <3

Goddess_Astra,

Keep us posted and we'll see what happens.
Thanks,

Anyone else have suggestions for the aurora/surrounding area?
