Take 2! Im back for my second year and ready to venture into a new genre from my previous 15 years of experience in thriller/horror! I cant wait to start!
My "ghost" story connects present day to the past with an array of characters (the living and the dead) at Bally Manor, a place that dates back to the Roaring 20s.
I am in. My novel, in the Personal category, is a look back at my Declare Order professional organizing clients from the past eight years. Very motivated and prepared this year as compared to previous attempts.
My novel this year is about a small group of close friends, all of them denizens of a small village of stuffed animals living on the edge of a fading Faerie land. Because the magic is going away, they have relied on the help of a kindly seamstress to heal their ouchies and sew on patches whenever their feet wear out (as they didn't used to when there was more magic). Now the seamstress is dying and she sends them to find a replacement for her to teach. Unbeknownst to the intrepid stuffed animals, their adventure will take them into grave peril with much higher stakes than they ever dreamt of.
Count me in. I'll be editing my BarnYard Hero cow novel and might work some comedy sketches and maybe some work on how to write a better holiday letter.
My synopsis is still a work in progress but this is what I have so far:
Arthur Kingston moves to a new town and discovers some secrets that he didn't know existed and is questioning everything that he thought he knew before.
No one can say what we get to be And why don't we rewrite the stars? Changing the world to be ours
oh yeah. my novel is the same as last year. Girl gets trapped in a book, needs to find a way out of it....personal growth, secrets uncovered..that kind of thing
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and trepidation. I've known about NaNoWriMo "forever," but never participated. I've been ruminating about fierce woman warrior stories for a long time, and want to bring oneto life. This round, I will tell the story of adolescent Amazon warrior Alkibie, living on the Asian steppes in 5th century BC. She faces internal and external enemies in her struggle to step into her place as an adult member of the tribe.
Cool Hand Luke meets Willy Wonka, meets Hunger Games, meets Star Blazers and a splash of Interstellar--all that and a bag of chips! A middle grade sci-fi opus--or a fluff graphic novel...who knows? But...I'm in!!!!!!
This year will be part 2 of the novel I began last year thinking that I didn't have enough material for 50,000 words. So more drama from my dysfunctional, or maybe just normal, group of family and friends who are trying to deal with each other, getting sick, getting old and getting tired of making the same mistakes over and over. And being spies.
Count me in, I love the word count graph. Thanks for doing it again.
My novel this year: Lenna Leads the Way.Lenna is growing up in a typical suburban american household and starts to question the family's belief system (and their church's and their country's). She starts by questioning and challenging her Dad, who is full of advice and philosophy but very short on action and involvement. Lenna leads the way in challenging the status quo and dragging her reluctant father with her into the future.
I guess Im in, she replied with trepidation. Ive never done this and am a little or maybe a lot overwhelmed with options. And I dont know what Im writing about yet. Anyone relate?
I'm in!!!! Synopsis: It was a dark and stormy night....
But really.
A team of three scientists believe that they built a time machine, and are brave enough to test it after several rock-solid field tests provide proof of its success. When the time crunch sequence ends, they step into a world that looks exactly like the one they left, so they believe their science and the machine somehow failed... or did it? They begin to notice subtle nuances that lead them to believe that the machine did in fact work, but "time" is broken....
I'm in again. Going to try a new type of novel this year. A couple of kids stumble into a secret land of fairies and find themselves smack in the middle of the struggle between .. well I haven't planned that far ahead yet.
I'm writing a Western about a man from back East who decides to go West to find meaning in his life after the death of his wife and son. Instead, he is greeted by men of cruelty and selfishness, which he must overcome.
Count me in - thanks! Lauren, taking a shot at a bit of a mystery/thriller...we'll see! Finally life isn't insane going into this November and hope to complete again. Hi everyone!
New to the Region, just moved to Bolingbrook in July. Count me in (It's so punny haha), I haven't figured out what I'm writing yet. Been floating around an Aliens vs. Predator vs. Potter idea for a few years, may write that. Also been brainstorming a typical cliched "hero of prophecy fantasy," where the hero of prophecy is an old lady in a nursing home, now tasked with saving the world along side her trusty side kick Nurse (Insert Name) who constantly reminds her to take her pills while fighting off dragons and such.
I'm being a rebel and I'm determined to finish a romance I started years ago. I almost don't care if I hit 50,000. I know I don't have that much left to tell the story but I need this motivation to finish.
Please count me in. A middle-aged couple buy a farm and look forward to country living. What they did not know? The Pumpkin Queen is waking up and taking at least her garden back.
I've found that Nanowrimo and NAPERWRIMO offers moral support, technical recommendations, word sprints and other unexpected benefits to help you start, keep writing and finish your novel. It can be done, and often is done with fun involved. If you can, try to attend a write in somewhere. Since "pantsers" are real, you are not alone. Just start writing, and keep writing. It is 30 days. We can spend 30 days and dream about writing, or we can write for 30 days and have an interesting draft of a novel (or whatever 50,000 word minimum projectyou set yourself to do). Even if the 50,000 words aren't met this time, be proud if you tried. You'll have more words than if you never started. And, we get to do it all again next year!
(PS, even if you feel you are behind, keep writing. You may surprise yourself)
Count me in! I am combining the two first-person written accounts of the pilgrims' journey to the New World into a diary format in contemporary English to make it more accessible to the average reader.
Count me in please. I guess it's a historical mystery. About 1934 Chicago with the Pioneer Zephyr andgovernment files being stolen with a reporter chasing down theculprit.
Might as well join in. My novel this year is just for fun; no intention of finishing it or giving it a true plot. Just people with sci-fi super soldier armor fighting giant alien creatures Monster Hunter style. :)
Blue Dot is a political fiction that answers what could happen if enough people moved to turn a red conservative state or county into blue liberal electoral votes.
count me in! Here's the synopsis of my novel "Haunting of Maple Creek"
Tara Lynch returns to her childhood home, as the executrix of her parents estate, when a spirit she believes to be that of Maddie DiBelle, a childhood friend who had disappeared nearly 20 years earlier, begins to haunt her. But when Tara examines clues from that fateful summer, she finds herself confronting a past so horrific, so traumatic, that the essence of the haunting becomes even more personal.
I'd like to be included! Sorry for jumping in a little late.
I'm writing a Thriller about young woman who falls in love with the seemingly "perfect man," but while it seems like he cares for her and knows exactly how to help her through her anxiety disorder in their relationship, he really has some sinister intentions with her anxiety while he wraps her into his sinister activities. I can't give away any spoilers!
I am working on one chapter per day, and according to my outline, I won't be done until December 12, but I sure as heck will hit 50k words by November 30!
Working on a murder mystery set at a nature center with an aviary. Our heroine realizes there's a connection betweena dead bird and a dead body. Decided I'd better join the word graph for accountability. I've got the beginning and end but plotting the middle is proving a challenge.
Hi all! I would love to join the graph. I'm writing teen suspense with a sci-fi twist -- a group of patients in a mental health facility discover that their illnessescause them to be the first to discover alien life on earth.
Sorry I didn't get around to this earlier! I'm working on my first grown-up fiction book influenced by my mother's hometown on Helen, GA. It's been fun.
If I can be in without Naperville being my 'home region' nowadays (in physical location - it's my home region in my Heart, with you all is where I got my nano start!) I'd love to be. My nano is about werewolves and witches and vampires, and a town that's been held precariously at peace between the various supernatural creatures for years. I'm 40k words in (after starting on the 10th!) and I still haven't found a proper 'main' plot, just...several smaller subplots. This whole year is all sorts of topsyturvy for me, but it's fun!

count me in, again...whether I go full force this year or not...hard to say. Terrible 2's....so...yeah. But i'll give it my best effort!
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?

I'm in. I have a great feeling about this year. Writing a fantasy novel about a girl who learns to accept she is not the "chosen one".
Count me in again!!!! I loved this last year.

I'm revisiting "The Shunamite" and probably doing some short stories and/or blog posts to keep from being distracted away from writing.
Count me in. I'm attempted to write my first murder mystery. Can't wait!
Count me in, I love the word count graph. Thanks for doing it again.
