Just checking to see if anyone is planning to come out November 1st (6-8 pm, Eola Road Branch)?

I was thinking of coming to this one (and bringing a few plot bunnies for the word wars), but it would be nice to know others were planning to come out...

It's possible that there will be a reporter present.

Hi, this is my first time involved with all of this.

So, is the point of a write in to have a dedicated space away from distractions to write? It's great that there is so much community support, I had no idea!

I'll refer you to this article I wrote for our blog that covers frequently asked questions about write-ins.

In brief, yes--the write-ins are designed to help writers write. Most who attend the write-ins get a lot of writing done. That being said, it's not just a space set aside for writing. All write-ins have some human interaction (not too much!) so that we don't get too lonely writing our stories off by ourselves. We have some word war contests for small prizes (extra incentive to write quickly) and other games.

The library space write-ins tend to be quieter than the coffee shop ones and online jabber chat ones (be sure to ask me for an account if you'd like to join in), but they are all productive spaces.

Yes; all of those are on http://naperwrimo.org/events (and also on our region's google calendar). Dave (TRRDEDEAN) should be going to many of those...
