My protagonist, Lorin, is usually a pretty submissive vampire. At this point in the novel, however, he kind of feels like he wants to kill everybody in the world. I've been really, really mean to him.

Me too. :) Works perfectly with the mood of my novel. I have a playlist of Apocolyptica, Dakota Suite, and Firekite that I have on perpetual repeat, too, because 90% of it is instrumental, and also most of it is dark and intense, which is exactly what I need.

Kaamos by Apocalyptica. (The video in that link is just two pictures rotating. Ignore it, just listen to it.) It's dark and energetic, which fits so well for my last few/next few scenes where there's a lot of action and intensity.
