I wasn't able to start my book until after the 12th of the month! Should I even start? I had a 6 week old to take care of and 20 people coming in two weeks for Thanksgiving. Plus a Pledge Campaign to chair this month.

But, I saw the articles in the the Naperville Sun and I got Dave's pep talk. Then I found time to go to a write-in and while I should have 25,000 words by today, I am celebrating because I have in only a few days gotten almost 5,000 words done. Hooray. Victory will be mine! I feel great about this and I am relieved that I will not be a total drag on the recently announced word count competition with Calgary, Alberta.

How about you? Are you with me in the boat that is lagging behind? Join me as we pull up to the others.

Going to the write-ins have been very helpful. I will be at Panera at Ogden and Naper from 9 to 11 tomorrow (Thursday). Tonight, inspired by the company of 11 other NaNoWriters at Caribou I managed over 3,000 words. I will succeed!

Fear not, Ruth Ann.

I was at about 12 k before this weekend, and now I'm at about 26k. I wasn't able to get a good start due to my work commitments in the first two weeks of the month. It can be done, and I didn't sacrifice my entire weekend to do it. Just keep plugging on, it helps to make yourself write without stopping for short increments when you're struggling (10, 15 minutes at a time).

How did Caribou go?
Are you still planning on Panera on Thursday? I may be able to make it for an hour or so. Let me know if you're going to be there for sure and I'll try harder.

How wonderful for you!

I have found it amazing what internal resources we can sometimes pull when we need to!

I didn't have much opportunity to write the first week but am almost at goal (although my story is only half told! - alas again!). The fun part is I am enjoying my story and the writing has become fun.

You can do what you set out to do.

Keep plugging, or should I say typing, (Ooops that's old school!), keep keyboarding away!

Best of success to you.
