List any and or all!! I am ALWAYS interested in meeting fellow geeks...having geeky conversations, making inside references (the maximum air speed velocity of an unladen european swallow...according to google...is 11 meters a second!!)
Sometimes, i just want to deviate from nano and have a geeky chat with fellow geeks and similar things to geek over!!! Whether it is video games, sci-fi, regular drama tv (Empire, anyone?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)..anime, manga, books..whatever it is, share with us! or just write in "inside references" to see how many people get it!
But just so you know, if your name is susan...I'LL TRY NOT TO QUESTION YOUR LIFE CHOICES...unless you forget to bring bananas to the TGIO party...dude. you always need to bring a banana to a party! Unless that party is in another universe and you can't attend...*ouch*
I am also big into:
Sailor moon. This one is the TOP of my list. Dudes, you should SEE my collection.
Once upon a time (LONG LIVE THE OUTLAW QUEEN AND CAPTAIN SWAN!...also...the stable believer...)
mythbusters (dskjfdjkldsfkl T_T so sad they are leaving!!)
Empire. Everything about that show is just so FIERCE...and duuuude...all the styles...I WANT TO WEAR ALL THE STYLES
legend of zelda (despite not having played ALL games)
STERLING ARCHER...and phrasing
Parks and Recreation! Yaaaas! Give me all the Ron swanson's...and all the Andy dwyer's!
Star trek (despite ONLY having seen 45% of TNG, the new movies, and the star trek movie where spock dies)
I already made referencecs above...but my signature is a big give away...as should WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY! (dude, no. let me rip those effing glasses OFF your face and SMASH THEM WITH A HAMMER!)
FIND ME A SHRUBBERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FDSKJSDFKJSDF THE LAST BOOK OF THE LUNAR CHRONICLES CAME OUT TODAY!!! AND MARISSA MEYER IS DOING A BOOK SIGNING IN LAGRANGE!!! FSJJSKKSJKKLFKSLD
I am sure i have more...but i can't seem to brain today...so..come on in and fan girl with me! or fan boy with me! or fanbi, or fan-what-ever-your-gender-orientation-is with me!
Don't blink. Blink and your dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, Don't look away, and don't blink!
I love the Lunar Chronicles, but I can't go see Marissa Meyer, because my mum is sick. And they want want everyone to buy the hardcover, but I want the softcover. I wanted her to sign my Cress softcover, but they won't let me in.

I prefer hard cover books, so i was glad to buy one and i got a ticket to go! I hope i can find a WAY to go...i work that day...but until when??? I babysit...so...i technically COULD bring the kids with me...but i have a wee one who has a bed time of 8!!!!! and the singing is at 7!!!!
I am now debating: read winter NOW, or read the first 4 before i read winter?! but then again...if i read...I GET DISTRACTED FROM NANO!
Don't blink. Blink and your dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, Don't look away, and don't blink!
You can maybe read an hour then write an hour read an hour and so one. Lol. I just prefer paperbacks cuz their cheaper, but I'm going to get the hardcover from the library and read it now.
I don't know how many inner references I can produce my brain has not got all its blood worked into its like pores or whatever yet today.
BUT.... where do i geek out... lets see.
Writing Crushes: JA Huss, Pepper WInters (Oy with the heartstrings and the mind -you know whats- with that one), and they BOTH have books coming out on the 20th. WHAT am I going to do? Write my own novel? Read Peppers supposedly over a 1000 page book that ends a series and promises to be a complete and utter gutting of every feel you've ever felt, read Huss' book which is brand new, had a book within a book that will take me on yet another journey through another fifteen books that she will eventually write.,, or of course write my own book. I mean seriously.
TV Show Obsessions:
Gilmore Girls sits at the top of the list forever and always. - and there are way too many one liners that I could quote and Id literally be here all day. (Team Logan, Team Luke- and was beyond furious when they left us with the worst series finale ever)
I watch Dr. Who too! (and Iwould like to state for the record Ive been a whovian LONG before it became trendy to be so like 5 years ago. I will always be team David Tenent even though Matt Smith was beyond adorable. I'm Team Rose over Team Amy Pond - even though she too was super cute. I hate the new doctor, but I really like his Clara but or course she's leaving :-/
My husband and I also watch: Orphan Black (dont spoil season 3 for me yet- I'm waiting for it to become free on Amazon Prime), Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Black Sails (mmmm Pirates), and Outlander (team Jamie) as well as most of the other popular Nextlix/Amazon shows (Narcos, Indredible Kimmy Schmidt (hashbrown no filter), etc etc)
and the Indigo Girls are my one and only hard-core fan girl been to every single concert in Chicago they'e had since 1995. And despite working in radio for like eleven years, I never met them. They are my elusive golden unicorn.
Oh and John Hughes. Brat pack John Hughes, not Home Alone John Hughes.
YAY! Another Team Logan-er! I always felt so alone in my ship. Seems most tend to be Team Jess or Team Dean, but I was always rooting for Logan. Loved Max, but always shipped Luke too. The last season was brutal in many respects (Christopher, BLECH), but that series finale was awful. :( Did you know they're doing a limited-series revival on Netflix??? Maybe we'll finally get our wonderful ending!
Gilmore Girls (forever my favorite!!! I may need to rewatch this again soon...)
iZombie
Veronica Mars (but daaaang that series finale was terrible!)
Downton Abbey (soooo sad the Christmas ep will be the last ever!!)
Miranda (omfg the FUNNIEST EVER!!!!!! So sad this isn't on any streaming sites and only comes in non-US region DVD, or I would SO push this show on EVERYONE!!!!)
Other shows I really like but don't squee over as much:
Lost Girl through season 3 (after that it just went downhill, but I will always ship Dyson x Bo forever! Plus <3 Kenzi!)
Doctor Who when RTD was in charge (Donna was my favorite and Ten will always be My Doctor)
Orange Is The New Black
Parks and Rec
The Office
Nashville
Modern Family
Agents of SHIELD
Books/series I love (in no particular order):
Harry Potter (duh)
The Hollows / Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison
Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs
Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor
The Walsh Family books by Marian Keyes
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness
Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty
Favorite movies (in no particular order):
The Princess Bride
Zombieland
About Time
Pitch Perfect 1 & 2
Marvel movies (esp Iron Man ones, Thor ones, Guardians, & the first Avengers movie)
OMG. I was going to talk about Harkness. How did I forget Harkness?!? I loved LOVED the series (books 1&2 more so than 3) I felt like she was writing three just to finish and not because she had the story to tell.
Did you hear she's starting a NEW series?!? The Serpents Mirror? About Matthew during the Tudor era? I do t think I can wait until 2017!!
And yaaaaaas!! I can't wait for the GG Netflix series!
Yeah, I agree about book 3. I liked it, but I just wasn't feeling it as much as 1 & 2. Omg, I didn't know she was writing another series, and now I'm SO EXCITED!!! YAY! Having to wait until 2017 is going to be SO TORTUROUS!!! I can't wait for more Matthew!! <3

Now begs the question: What do you think of this new WEHRABL- TEEEKNOLEGEH!!!!!! Every time those STUPID glasses appear on screen, i start smashing my couch pillow on the floor with my expressions as follows:
Don't blink. Blink and your dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, Don't look away, and don't blink!
You all are making me feel old. I'm a Doctor Who fan too, but Tom Baker and Sarah Jane Smith are my favorites because that is when I first started watching it. I like that the new series has such respect for the past. The best part of the 50th anniversary episode was when Tom Baker appeared as the curator. Peter Capaldi is growing on me, especially since last week's episode.
i told my husband that maybe...JUST maybe...if they had neat buttons or lazers...or did MORE than just look like cheap ray-bans...THEN I'D SOMEWHAT BE OK!! BUT THE ENTIRE FANDOM WANTS THE SCREWDRIVER BACK!!!

Please say that...you may not squee as much but that doctor who still gives you MASSIVE FEELS DAMN YOU STEVEN MOFFAT!!!! Every time i listen to the song "hey there, rose tyler" I START BAWLING.
But, i have to MAN up like RON SWANSON! You are only supposed to cry at the grand canyon and funerals! ...which means, it was totes appropes to cry during "angels take manhattan" even though there was no visible funeral to be seen
Don't blink. Blink and your dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, Don't look away, and don't blink!
I totes used to squee over Doctor Who in a major way, but after Russell T Davies stopped being to Man In Charge, there's been more emphasis on ACTION ACTION ACTION than emotion, so sadly I haven't felt many feels. Except about Danny. Because omfg. D: D: D: D: D: D: D: Frownie faces forever.
I liked last season, but I stopped watching after the first episode of this season because nothing made sense and it was typical Steven Moffat "LET'S THROW IN THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND ALL THIS OTHER RANDOM STUFF AND IT WILL BE AWESOME AND THE AUDIENCE WILL BE ON THE EDGE OF THEIR SEATS" except I never am. :(
Maybe I'll go back to it, but for nowI'll just roll around the Sea of Nine and Ten and Rose and Doctor Donna Feels and reminisce about (what I consider to be) the Good Ol' Days. *sigh*
And Ron Swanson is pretty much my favorite person ever and I wish he would come make furniture for me, lol.
I'll be honest, I don't really have any "fandoms" anymore. I used to be really excited about certain anime, video games, and TV shows in the past, but not anymore. They're fun to experience, but I wouldn't say I'm fanatical about them. I'm OK if I miss an episode, so much so that I've cut cable TV entirely, and I've to too much stuff in my apartment to even think about adding more clutter. I really enjoyed some book series, but either they stretched on too long or they fell apart somewhere in the middle. I've also lostthe need to see something through to the end, even if it stopped being good. I stopped watching Fringe and Bones before they ended, for example. I stopped reading the Sword of Truth novels after the third book, (or was it the second?) Things just don't grab me the way that they used to. I'm a little saddened by that.
Thatis kind of sad! But I have to say I can relate. I don't get quite as obsessed with things as I used to (despite my exhaustive list above). And I can't tell you the number of series I've started to watch and later abandoned. It gets easier and easier the more I do it. I know plenty of people who continue watching / reading after they've lost interest, and it makes no sense to me!Why waste time on it if I don't care anymore?
I like to think that it's because we have higher standards than we used to. It's just sad that it takes more effort now to find things that fulfill those higher standards!
And I also think part of the excitement of fandom-ing is discussing the show / movie / book with someone else, and I don't really do that anymore, so it makes it easier to walk away when it starts sucking. :P
A friend of mine described it as "Watching on momentum," when you keep watching a show because you used to like it, not because you still do. I really like the phrase and use it myself on occasion. It can also be applied to just about any form of media: reading, listening, collecting, etc. Nowadays if I find myself watching Netflix on momentum, I take it as a hint that I need to stop and find a new series.

I've had a few shows like that. A show goes down hill..and you figure you might as well see this through to the end...for me..because there MIGHT be that SLIM CHANCE the show could turn itself around. JUST MAYBE...but then again, sometimes...there are shows that i lose interest in and don't even realize that i've forgotten to watch them!!!!! Even touching on mental health....for once, there is a main character...who not only kicks ass in a major butt kicking way, but is a POC...AND FEMALE...but not a dainty female...but one that's all beefed up. When was the last time a show did that?

Sure, Tom Baker was a hunk, and Sarah Jane Smith was a babe, but what about the Daleks??!
Exterminate. Exterminate. Exterminate.
Exterminate. Exterminate. Exterminate.
And then they find that they can't negotiate even the simplest obstacle, or walk up and down stairs!
And that original Dr. Who theme music. Talk about mind-blowing!
Stairs are no problem for Daleks anymore. They just EL-E-VATE.

Ever since we got Amazon Prime, we've binge-watched a number of television series. Among the ones we enjoyed:
I also like:
There are way too many book series I'm a fan of to list here ;-)
Orphan Black! I love Orphan Black so much it's made its way in to my story!
We're watching the Man in teh High Castle on Amazon Prime right now. What a trippy story.
